The alleged activity involved malicious links and fake accounts designed to lure victims off-platform, occurring after a 2025 court verdict that found NSO liable for hacking WhatsApp. Meta says the campaign shows commercial spyware vendors will ignore legal consequences, and warned that easing restrictions on NSO would undermine national security and endanger billions of users.
