OpenAI is removing text chat limits for all ChatGPT users, powered by the new GPT-5.6 Luna model which replaces GPT-5.5 as the default for Free and Go users. Free and Go users also get a new 'Think' button for higher reasoning on complex questions, while Plus and Pro users gain access to an upgraded GPT-5.6 Sol model and a thinking slider to adjust reasoning depth. Internal evaluations show factual errors down 62% for Luna and 68% for Sol compared to GPT-5.5-Instant. Limits remain on files, images, voice, and image generation.
